Greetings!
Most of you seems having problem on "no sound" but I am frustracting with too many sound!
The volume control for main built-in speaker (AC'97) is perfect, but it continue when I connects it with my headphone, so I have no way of enjoy my own private music or conversation because both main speaker and headphone have output of sound.
Going thru the device control, didn't see special icon for headphone too.
I had latest driver downloaded and the problem remain, any clues?
Thanks and best regards, MingSen

Sound from main speaker and headphone.

I guess you're plugging your headphone into your (front) CD output jack, which bypasses the system controls.
If you want to switch between speakers and headphones, then they need to be connected to the same REAR output, with a switch control such as used by gamers.
Hi Mike,
I'm using HP Compaq Laptop NX5000, there is only one audio jack used for headphone.
Anyone else had the problem like me?

I don't know the specifics for the laptop - have you read the manual, consulted the HP website ...?
